Filming has started on the latest episode of Extreme Makeover: Home Edition. Although many of the details cannot yet be revealed, Hanks Electrical Supply has agreed to donate most of the electrical material for this show so far totaling over six thousand dollars. One of our good customers, electrical contractor Dave Holmes out of Orange California, has taken on the responsibility of putting together a team of electricians and volunteers along with himself to install and oversee all of the electrical aspects of the remodel. Dave came to us for our support on the project and with the help of the manufacturers below we were able to accommodate most of their needs.
If you are not familiar with Extreme Makeover: Home Edition, it is a reality show that is actually real. The good nature of people comes out as they work together to help families in unique situations or misfortune, rebuild their homes in 7 short days. If you've been involved in any major construction or even a decent remodel project you should realize the difficulties involved in arranging all the trades from demolition through rough and finally finish - furnishing and decorating (even landscaping) in this short a time. From our aspect it is even shorter as electrical rough installation has been slotted a 7 hour window in which to complete it's tasks and some additional hours to do the finish work. Dave and his team will have their hands full. I imagine they will also try and sneak a few hours in around the other trades.
This episode should be airing in December 2004. As more details come out we will be able to share them and some photos with you. Here are just a couple photos from one of the first day of filming.
